Fall

I love fall. It's one of my favorite seasons! I love summer...but fall is so crisp and fresh. I just wish it would last longer. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go to the mountains. I love to see all the trees turning, they're so pretty. John has a deer tag this year and we have been going to the mountains to scout for deer. It's so fun when John, the boys, and me head to the mountains. This last time we went we took stuff for a picnic dinner. We made a little fire and roasted hot dogs. I think why I love doing stuff like this is because I have great memories of doing it as a child with my family and I want my boys to have the same great memories. Anyways, we had a little cook out, did a little 4 wheeling and looked for deer. We did not see one deer(hopefully John has better luck next weekend when he goes) but we did see a buffalo. I was so surprised! John works in that area and the fish and game cops have been looking for it. John comes home all the time telling me that some of the guys have seen it. I thought it was just a joke, but then we saw it. Of course as I go to take a picture of it my camera dies, so you'll just have to take our word. We had a blast...I love doing things with my little family. I hope my boys will remember the fun things we did together when they're older and want to still do them with us.

Riley's 1st day of Kindergarten

It was bittersweet for me for Riley to go to kindergarten. He's my baby so I was wishing I had another year or two home with him. But he was definitely ready. He walked right in and started playing with some other boys with blocks and told me he was fine. I was the one that walked away with a tear in my eye.

Kayden's 1st day of 2nd grade

WOW!! I can't believe that Kayden is in the 2nd grade. He's such a big boy! He loves school. I am so happy that he does so good. He is doing such a good job this year of taking care of Riley too. He helps him at the bus and walks him to his class every morning.

Catch Up Summer 2010

I have been really bad about updating my blog since we moved. I guess I'm just busy lately. Looking back through my blog I realized their are things I haven't blogged about....so warning-this may be long!
May-For mother's day I got a new vehicle! We traded in our truck for a fun Jeep!
June-June 7th I started a new job. It was a hard decision, after working for my former employer for 9 1/2 years. I think this will be a good change and better for my family. I think my new employer will be more understanding that I am a working mom.
The weekend of June 11 we went camping for our 1st camping trip of the summer-it was also my brother Cody's birthday and that's what he wanted to do. We went to Stienaker. IT RAINED BUCKETS THE WHOLE TIME!! It rained so much that we had to stay under the pavilion the whole time. It rained so much that our tent was so drenched that we only stayed 1 night in it. It rained so much that when we slept in Cody and Lindsey's boat with them the next night that it was leaking. It rained so much that my jeep(which has a hard top) was leaking a little. It was also not very warm.So we decided to take a ride up to Flaming Gorge and take a tour of the dam-anything to get out of the weather. On the way up it was snowing!! I couldn't believe it. I guess we are die hards because we toughed it out. We always have fun just hanging out together. But come Sunday morning after breakfast we decided it was time to clean up and head straight home. It was definitely a wet June!!
We also got a new family member in June. We got a blue great dane puppy. We named him Gus. He is such a fun BIG dog!
July-We celebrated the 4th of July at our house this year with a little barbecue and some fire works and root beer floats. This has been a crazy summer. We live in the desert so it is usually super hot. Not this year-it was so cool on the 4th of July that we had to wear hoodies!August-The 1st week in August is UBIC. A celebration our little town has. We don't participate in a lot of the activities, but we always make it to the parade. This year Mater from Cars was in the parade. My boys thought it was great! A couple weeks later is the annual Weight family reunion. We always go and have a good time! And guess who showed up to the reunion-MATER! So I had to get a few pics of him.
We had a ton of fun at the reunion. It's always so nice to see everyone and catch up. John has a great family!

Party

Riley and my mom's birthday is a day apart. We usually have a big combined party, which is a ton of fun! This year we had it at our new house. We had ribs, pasta, and salad. For cake I made a lemon cake with lemon frosting. Everyone had a ton of fun!

Riley turns 5!!

Time flies! I can't believe that my Riley is 5 today. 5 years ago was one of the happiest and scariest days of my life. I went into labor 3 weeks early. He turned into an emergency c-section. His lungs were not developed and he had to be life flighted to Salt Lake. He got to come home 10 days later on the 4th of July. He is the sweetest little guy. He is always happy and easy going. He loves to cuddle with mom and dad. He is our little buddy and helper. I love him tons and could not imagine our lives without him. He is one of my rays of sunshine...lucky me, I have a couple of those!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun!

Whew, talk about a busy weekend! But we had a ton of fun! It started Friday night with my brother Tanner's graduation. Afterwards we went to my parents house for a party. We had snacks, played pool and visited.
Saturday we decided that we wanted to go for a ride and decided to go to my father-in-law and brother-in-law's cabin. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. We had fun finding little trails to try out with our new jeep. Then we came home and went to another brother-in-laws for a barbecue. Sunday we finished our big flower bed out front. That took most of the day and then we went up to my parent's for dinner. They had smoked ribs-they were delicious!
Monday we decided that we wanted to do something fun again, so we went to nine mile canyon. I guess sometimes we forget what is in our own area. We had not been out there for years and went farther than we ever had before. It was a lot of fun to explore all the petroglyphs. There are a ton more out there that we want to go back and see. Some of them you have to hike into. We are thinking that maybe we'll go camping out there for a weekend so we have plenty of time to see it all. And of course we had to try out a few trails.
I think this was a great kick off to the summer!
