Riley

So I had just sat the boys down for lunch(mac and cheese), went back to the kitchen to get me a sandwich, when Riley started crying and freaking out. He said that he had put a piece of mac and cheese up his nose. So right away we ran to the bathroom to see if I could grab it with a pair of tweezers-of course when I go to grab on to it he sniffs and now I can't see it. So we rush to the doctor and Riley is saying that it hurts. When the doctor pulls it out it is actually a bead instead of a piece of mac and cheese(which is better because they were afraid that they were going to have to send us to the ear, nose, and throat doctor to have it suctioned out). There are days and then there are days.

Belated Birthday

Well talk about a belated birthday-poor Kayden. We celebrated on time but have had computer problems and I finally just got the pictures of his birthday and I thought we would post it. Kayden always likes to celebrate his birthday at Grandma and Grandpa's house. For his dinner this year he chose shrimp scampi over fettuccine. For dessert he had a chocolate cake with a dirt bike. He always loves to invite Grandpa Kay and Grandma Kathy, Uncle Cody and Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Tanner, and Great Grandma. Every gift he gets he crack us all up by saying "I've wanted this my whole life" He says this every time he opens a present, every year. WE love him tons and can't believe he is 6 already.

Mom and Dad

I just wanted to take a moment and tell my parents congrats. Their anniversary is March 11th. They have been married 29 years and are still going strong. I hope John and I's marriage is like theirs-happily in love after so many years. Love you Mom and Dad!!

CHOCOLATE PANCAKES

I saw chocolate pancakes on channel 2 news the other morning. It is really hard for me to get Kayden to eat breakfast on school mornings, so I thought I would try this recipe-and of course I should not be surprised-the boys loved them. They ate 2 pancakes a piece. I usually have a hard time getting them to eat a 1/2 a pancake. Kayden asked if he could have them for breakfast before school tomorrow-hopefully he loves them as much as he did today. Personally I did not care for them-a little to rich for my tastes. Thought I would send along the recipe if anyone is interested. They taste like chocolate cake.

Chocolate Pancakes and Grandma's Syrup

1 1/2 C Flour
3 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Salt
6 Tbsp Sugar
6 Tbsp Baking Cocoa
1 1/4 C Warmed Milk
4 Tbsp Butter or Margarine, Melted
2 Eggs, Beaten

Mix and sift together dry ingredients. Add milk, butter, and eggs, Beat until smooth. Add extra milk if the batter is too thick. Cook as you do regular pancakes. Serve warm with Grandma's Syrup.

Grandma's Syrup

2 C Sugar
1 8-oz. Can Evaporated Milk
1 Tbsp Butter

Boil Sugar and milk, stirring constantly until all sugar is dissolved. Cook over high heat until mixture starts to boil. Do not leave unattended, as it comes to a boil quickly. Remove from heat and add butter. Let sit for 5 minutes, then stir and enjoy!
