10 YEARS!!

WOW!! My wonderful hubby and I have been married for 10 years...time has flown. We decided to do something fun this year. So we left the boys with my parents and got a room at the Anniversary Inn. We went to dinner at one of our favorite italian restaurants, Tucci's, and we went shopping. It was so fun to get away and have alone time. I can't wait to spend another 10+++ years with my hubby.

Catch up...

I feel like we have been super busy this summer and time is flying by. I decided to update some of the things that have been going on with us this summer...so there is a few posts:) Enjoy.

1st Day of School

Wow...the summer has flown by!! I can't believe it's time for school again already. This year Kayden is in 3rd grade and is going to King's Peak Elementary. He walks to and from school, a new experience for us. Riley is in 1st grade and goes all day this year. He still rides the bus to East Elementary. My boys looked so handsome on the 1st day of school(like always).

New Boat

John and I decided to get a boat for our family this summer. We have not been disappointed, we have had many hours of fun as a family. We have gone to Starvation, Steineker, and Flaming Gorge since we've had it. We have even camped on it. The boat has become a favorite family activity. We'll be sad when winter comes:)

Riley Turns 6

I can't believe my baby is 6!! Where has time gone??? It just seems like yesterday he was a little toddler. June 24, 2005 he gave me the biggest scare of my life...being born premature. Now you wouldn't guess he was such a little squirt when he was born. We are so lucky to have Riley in our family. He is our family clown. He's my easy going sweet boy. He completes our family. He was almost born on grandma's birthday, so we always celebrate their birthdays together. He loves that he and grandma have a joint birthday party.

1st camping trip for 2011

We went on our 1st camp trip of the year last weekend. John had the weekend off and we worked on repairing our deck all day Friday and then decided we should have some fun. So late Friday afternoon we loaded up our camping gear in our little jeep trailer, the kids, and the dog and headed out to the desert. We figured it would be warmer out there at night. When we got there we had time to set up camp & collect firewood before it got dark. Then we had a traditional dinner of roasted hot dogs for dinner, and of course for dessert we had smores, mm mm. The next morning we got up and made breakfast over the campfire. I fried eggs and bacon-I haven't cooked over a campfire like that in years. But my guys all seemed to enjoy it. Then we had a little target practice with the guns(I forgot to take pics). Loaded up camp and came home. It was fun just to get out of the house and do something different for a change. Hopefully next time we can go for a little longer.

What We've Been Up To...

It seems like time gets away from me lately. I couldn't believe it had been so long since I updated my blog. Here are some things we have been up to:

Kayden has been enjoying Scouts:Dad has also been teaching the boys how to shoot Kayd's bb gun:It was my birthday(we won't discuss how old): Kayden had a school program: We've went on a fun ride to the Sandwash boatramp on the Green River:
John teaching Ri how to skip rocks
I had to throw in this last picture that Riley took of Kayd and me to show you how tall Kayd is getting. He's gonna pass me up and Riley is only 2 inches shorter than Kayden. I think I'm going to be the short one before long at my house.

Living Room Makeover

Last weekend I decided I was tired of the ugly walls in my living room. All the walls were a weird beige-pink color except the wall with the windows it was a barn red color. On top of that there was a bunch of holes and chips in the walls and missing pieces of floor trim.
So I had Thursday and Friday off and John had the weekend off. Thursday morning when John was getting ready to leave for work I told him that I wanted to paint the living room this weekend because he was off. He told me that I might as well start that day. Of course I did not let grass grow under my feet :). It took us Thursday, Friday, and Saturday to finish it. I love it! I went to get the paint at Lowe's and the lady said, "You want black for the trim?" She acted kind of disgusted by it. But it looks so clean and classy I love it. The walls are cream soda, the trim cracked pepper, and the ceiling white. I couldn't believe how bright and open it made the room look. It look wonderful and now I can't wait to finish the rest of the upstairs(Hopefully in the next couple weeks)

2011

I am kind of excited/nervous to see what 2011 will bring. 2010 was full of change-most of it good. Just a quick run down of what the last year has brought our family...new house(wonderful), new vehicle(fun), new job(a little stressful), new dog(a great dane-what was I thinking! jk), and a new hobby(Fun and great for our family)-we have started going on jeep trails and 4 wheeling with our boys on Johns days off. I am hoping we will not have so much change because there is not much left to change:). I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with my hubby and boys doing fun things and some remodeling on our house. Hope the New Year is great for everyone!

Holidays 2010

The holidays were great this year! It was so fun to watch my boys be so excited. I think this was the most excited they had ever been. It was fun to have a new house for the holidays too. I could actually have some of them at our house. We had Christmas eve at our house this year with my family. We always eat snacks while watching Christmas Vacation. It was fun to have everyone over and have enough room for everyone.Christmas day we woke up the boys as usual(funny boys). Santa brought some fun toys for them to play with. Then we went to my parents house to open more presents and have dinner. New Years eve we went to my parents again for snacks and to play games. John could only stay a little while and then he went home early because he had to get up early to go to work the next day. New Year's day we had my family over for dinner. I made a prime rib for the 1st time (yummy!). The best part of the holidays was spending time with family!
