Happy Birthday John!!

Today is John's birthday and I wanted to just tell him how much I love him and what a great father he is. We had a birthday party Sunday with my family.
Tonight the boys and me took John to Marion's for dinner. We are grateful to have such a great dad and hubby:)

Halloween 2010

We had our 1st Halloween in our new house! This to me is the kick off to the holidays, which I am really excited to spend in our new house. Halloween a year ago we moved in with my parents while waiting to get our new house. Crazy how time flies!
We carved pumpkins on Thursday.
Saturday we went trick or treating. Kayden was Darth Vader and Riley was Mario. Riley wanted Kayden to be Luigi, but Kayden thought Darth Vader was cooler.

After trick or treating we came home and my parents came over and brought pizza for dinner. The boys thought it was great!

Fall

I love fall. It's one of my favorite seasons! I love summer...but fall is so crisp and fresh. I just wish it would last longer. One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go to the mountains. I love to see all the trees turning, they're so pretty. John has a deer tag this year and we have been going to the mountains to scout for deer. It's so fun when John, the boys, and me head to the mountains. This last time we went we took stuff for a picnic dinner. We made a little fire and roasted hot dogs. I think why I love doing stuff like this is because I have great memories of doing it as a child with my family and I want my boys to have the same great memories. Anyways, we had a little cook out, did a little 4 wheeling and looked for deer. We did not see one deer(hopefully John has better luck next weekend when he goes) but we did see a buffalo. I was so surprised! John works in that area and the fish and game cops have been looking for it. John comes home all the time telling me that some of the guys have seen it. I thought it was just a joke, but then we saw it. Of course as I go to take a picture of it my camera dies, so you'll just have to take our word. We had a blast...I love doing things with my little family. I hope my boys will remember the fun things we did together when they're older and want to still do them with us.

Riley's 1st day of Kindergarten

It was bittersweet for me for Riley to go to kindergarten. He's my baby so I was wishing I had another year or two home with him. But he was definitely ready. He walked right in and started playing with some other boys with blocks and told me he was fine. I was the one that walked away with a tear in my eye.

Kayden's 1st day of 2nd grade

WOW!! I can't believe that Kayden is in the 2nd grade. He's such a big boy! He loves school. I am so happy that he does so good. He is doing such a good job this year of taking care of Riley too. He helps him at the bus and walks him to his class every morning.

Catch Up Summer 2010

I have been really bad about updating my blog since we moved. I guess I'm just busy lately. Looking back through my blog I realized their are things I haven't blogged about....so warning-this may be long!
May-For mother's day I got a new vehicle! We traded in our truck for a fun Jeep!
June-June 7th I started a new job. It was a hard decision, after working for my former employer for 9 1/2 years. I think this will be a good change and better for my family. I think my new employer will be more understanding that I am a working mom.
The weekend of June 11 we went camping for our 1st camping trip of the summer-it was also my brother Cody's birthday and that's what he wanted to do. We went to Stienaker. IT RAINED BUCKETS THE WHOLE TIME!! It rained so much that we had to stay under the pavilion the whole time. It rained so much that our tent was so drenched that we only stayed 1 night in it. It rained so much that when we slept in Cody and Lindsey's boat with them the next night that it was leaking. It rained so much that my jeep(which has a hard top) was leaking a little. It was also not very warm.So we decided to take a ride up to Flaming Gorge and take a tour of the dam-anything to get out of the weather. On the way up it was snowing!! I couldn't believe it. I guess we are die hards because we toughed it out. We always have fun just hanging out together. But come Sunday morning after breakfast we decided it was time to clean up and head straight home. It was definitely a wet June!!
We also got a new family member in June. We got a blue great dane puppy. We named him Gus. He is such a fun BIG dog!
July-We celebrated the 4th of July at our house this year with a little barbecue and some fire works and root beer floats. This has been a crazy summer. We live in the desert so it is usually super hot. Not this year-it was so cool on the 4th of July that we had to wear hoodies!August-The 1st week in August is UBIC. A celebration our little town has. We don't participate in a lot of the activities, but we always make it to the parade. This year Mater from Cars was in the parade. My boys thought it was great! A couple weeks later is the annual Weight family reunion. We always go and have a good time! And guess who showed up to the reunion-MATER! So I had to get a few pics of him.
We had a ton of fun at the reunion. It's always so nice to see everyone and catch up. John has a great family!

Party

Riley and my mom's birthday is a day apart. We usually have a big combined party, which is a ton of fun! This year we had it at our new house. We had ribs, pasta, and salad. For cake I made a lemon cake with lemon frosting. Everyone had a ton of fun!

Riley turns 5!!

Time flies! I can't believe that my Riley is 5 today. 5 years ago was one of the happiest and scariest days of my life. I went into labor 3 weeks early. He turned into an emergency c-section. His lungs were not developed and he had to be life flighted to Salt Lake. He got to come home 10 days later on the 4th of July. He is the sweetest little guy. He is always happy and easy going. He loves to cuddle with mom and dad. He is our little buddy and helper. I love him tons and could not imagine our lives without him. He is one of my rays of sunshine...lucky me, I have a couple of those!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun!

Whew, talk about a busy weekend! But we had a ton of fun! It started Friday night with my brother Tanner's graduation. Afterwards we went to my parents house for a party. We had snacks, played pool and visited.
Saturday we decided that we wanted to go for a ride and decided to go to my father-in-law and brother-in-law's cabin. Unfortunately I forgot my camera. We had fun finding little trails to try out with our new jeep. Then we came home and went to another brother-in-laws for a barbecue. Sunday we finished our big flower bed out front. That took most of the day and then we went up to my parent's for dinner. They had smoked ribs-they were delicious!
Monday we decided that we wanted to do something fun again, so we went to nine mile canyon. I guess sometimes we forget what is in our own area. We had not been out there for years and went farther than we ever had before. It was a lot of fun to explore all the petroglyphs. There are a ton more out there that we want to go back and see. Some of them you have to hike into. We are thinking that maybe we'll go camping out there for a weekend so we have plenty of time to see it all. And of course we had to try out a few trails.
I think this was a great kick off to the summer!

Changes

There have been so many changes in my life lately! Since November I feel like things have been moving at top speed and everything has changed. Nothing is the same-but all the changes luckily have been good for the most part. In November John and I moved our family in with my parents. Then a couple weeks later I had a hysterectomy. Then we bought a house and moved to town. Then our dog ran away-very sad. Then we traded in our truck for a new jeep (which is very fun).
Yesterday was my last day working for Dr. Larsen. I have worked there 9 1/2 years. June 7th I start working for Dr. Tomlinson. I am a little nervous and but also excited! We are also getting a new puppy soon. Which is like having a new baby because you have to train and potty train them and they take a lot of time!

We have been doing a lot to our house also. We have been redoing the yard. Which is taking a lot more time than I thought it would. But it's coming together slow but sure. We are putting the inside on hold until this fall and focusing on the yard.
I don't think there is anything else to change! jk Now things can slow down hopefully and we can just relax and enjoy life.

Sunday Road Trip

Saturday morning John and his brother Lee left on their motorcycles to meet their dad, brother, and nephew at Lake Powell. They thought it would be fun to meet up with them and spend the night. Sunday morning around 6:50 I got a text from John wondering if I wanted to go on a road trip. I asked him why and he said it was pouring and the wind was blowing. I looked out the window and saw that it was snowing here. So I called my brother and we borrowed a trailer and drove clear down to Lake Powell to rescue them. Then we drove straight home-talk about a long day in the truck! Needless to say everyone is home safe, happy, and dry.

Busy Busy Busy!

Life seems to be running at full speed lately! Riley had his kindergarten testing Wednesday. A little sad for me-it means my baby boy is growing up. He will be probably one of the youngest in his class. He won't be 5 until June 24. It was a really hard debate if we should send him or not. I think he is smart, mature, and ready. I think it's harder for me than it is for him:). This year they didn't want the parents to go with for the testing, so when he came out I asked him how he did. He said they patted him on the shoulder and said good job you passed. He's such a big boy!
Kayden is almost done with 1st grade. I can't believe he is going to be in 2nd this fall! He is such a good helper and big boy lately. He is doing so good in school this year! Hopefully next year is just as good. I have to give credit to his teacher for this also, because he has had an awesome teacher this year. He has been helping dad in garage a lot lately. They are building shelves and turning it into John's shop.
Saturday John took the day off work and we went to the motorcycle and ATV show in SLC. We were disappointed when we got there, it was really small and didn't have that many dealers or bikes there. Although he did find one he liked a lot. He's starting to want another bike. He wants a touring one, so I'll benefit from it :).
We have been a little sad lately because our dog that we have had for 9 years was staying at my father in laws shop got out accidentally and we have not seen him for 2 weeks. We think he was chasing a rabbit and got out under the fence. We have decided to hold off on getting another dog until this fall. We have a few trips planned for this summer and trying to put a yard in and remodel our house. Puppies are too much work to add to our busy summer schedule.
I have been so excited that spring is here. I can't wait to start making some flower beds and designing our yard in the next couple weeks.

Easter

Easter was quite an adventure this year! We had only been living in our new house for about 4 days. We decided to paint the boy's room because Kayden's was pink and Riley's dingy white. The boys had to sleep on the couch upstairs. So the Easter Bunny had to make his delivery downstairs in the family room which was hardly unpacked. We were quite surprised when we woke up to snow! We had fun though. The boys found their eggs and watched their new movie while mom and dad painted their rooms. That afternoon we went to my parents for Easter dinner. Afterwards we came home and finished painting their rooms. So they got to spend another night on the couch. But now their rooms look like cute little boys rooms. Next year Easter should be a little more relaxed and organized. (who new it would take us all weekend to paint :) )

Hopefully we will be moved in by Easter. That's the plan. As soon as I can I will get more pics. We are definitely excited!(if you click on the picture it looks a lot clearer)

It's Been A While

I was on here the other day and realized I have not updated since January! What a slacker I have been. Things have been up and down the last couple months.

We have been in the process of buying a house. We were supposed to close last week but the underwriter kept picking apart the appraisal. Our mortgage broker was as frustrated as we were and now we are going to a different lending agency. So HOPEFULLY(that's the key word) we will be closing late this week. Very stressful!

We have done a few fun things to get us through the long days of winter. The circus was in Vernal the beginning of February. My mom had some free tickets from her work for the boys so I decided to take them. They had a blast and Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lindsey, and Uncle Cody came along. It was a lot of fun and something the boys have never seen. We'll have to take them to a big circus in the city one day soon.

The middle of February was the Utah Dental Convention. I was gone for a few days. John had to work so the boys got to go stay with Aunt Linds and Uncle Cody. They had fun as usual.

We have had a lot of fun just getting together with family and having dinner together for no reason and relaxing and visiting until the wee hours of the morning. We also did a movie night. My family is definitely my best friends.

Hopefully my next post is pictures of our new house and an update of our info...wish us luck on the house!

Kayden turns 7!!

I can't believe that Kayden is 7! Seems like yesterday that I had him. I keep asking myself if I am really old enough to have a 7 year old. Maybe we should go backwards this year. JK Kayden is an awesome boy. He is loving and caring. He loves school. He loves to be with mom, dad, and Riley too. He has such a loving nature. He loves to always cuddle under a blanket and spend special time with mom and dad. He loves anything to do with motorcycles, trucks, boats, and farm equipment. He loves to help with anything in the kitchen, from cooking to cleaning. He is truly a blessing and we love him tons!!! Happy Birthday to my big boy, we're so proud of you.(hopefully he feels better for his party. He has the stomach flu)

Monster Truck Winter Nationals

My brother and his wife invited us to go with them to the monster truck show at the E Center. We didn't tell the boys we were going until we were getting ready to go Saturday morning. They were definitely excited. The whole way out to Salt Lake Kayden kept asking if we were going to be there on time cause he didn't want to miss it. Of course we were there an hour before it started. The boys had a ton of fun! They couldn't stop smiling the whole time. They also had some motor cross and tuff trucks to go with the monster trucks. I think the boys were in heaven. Afterwards we went to Costco and the Olive Garden for dinner. We all rode out in my brother's truck so we had a lot of fun visiting too! I think we will definitely go again.
